Description

Just two blocks to King Street’s dining and shopping district sits this attractive three level brick home, nestled amongst a row of picturesque town houses. The 3 bed, 3 1/2 bath row house provides a seamless marriage of modern amenities and the charm of Old Town’s historic district.

The home’s sunny main level features a marble-tiled foyer, first floor powder room, hardwood floors, and recessed lighting. A bright and updated eat-in kitchen, complete with stainless steel appliances, a subway tile backsplash, and marble counters, is located at the front of the home. Just beyond sits the large and open dining and living area, a gracious and bright space with a wood-burning fireplace. Glass doors offer a view of—and easy access to—the private walled back deck and garden, perfect for al fresco dining, grilling, relaxing, and entertaining. This outdoor space is beautifully planted and adorned by café lights. In addition, the home features a rarity in Old Town; a garage provides room for additional storage and off-street parking for one car.

The second floor, also with hardwood floors throughout, is home to a large master suite, complete with vaulted ceilings, a professionally installed closet system, and a large en-suite bathroom with shower and separate soaker tub. A spacious second bedroom is also located on this floor, and features an en-suite full bathroom as well. This updated, subway tiled room with vintage-inspired touches is appointed with a pedestal sink and tub/shower combination.

The home’s lower level features a cozy family room with recessed lighting and a slate-tiled gas fireplace framed by attractive sconces, a third full bathroom with a pedestal sink and large walk-in shower, and the home’s spacious third bedroom. The stacked washer and dryer are also located on this level.

The home's central Old Town location is a commuter’s dream: less than one mile to King Street Metro, and easy access to I-95/495, Route 1, and the GW Parkway. Whole Foods, Harris Teeter, Trader Joes, Balducci’s, Starbucks, and farmers' markets are also located conveniently nearby.

Old Town

Welcome to historic Old Town, Alexandria. Founded in 1749, Old Town is a place rich with colonial charm. This is the heart of the City of Alexandria. Going back in time, one might have caught a glimpse of a middle-aged George Washington riding his horse up to Christ Church on the corner of Washington and Cameron Streets. Years later, Old Town became the childhood home of famed Confederate General Robert E. Lee. A slew of other notable names from both Virginian and American History add to Old Town's lore.

Located on the western bank of the Potomac River, Old Town played an important role in the growth of our nation. It is no surprise that Old Town grew to prominence as a well-traveled port city under both British and U.S. rule. Like the rest of the communities in the City of Alexandria, the development of Old Town is tied closely to its proximity to the nation's capital.

Since the colonial period, Old Town has established itself as diverse cultural center and bastion of American trade, commerce, and industry.

Quality of Life:

Old Town brings you to the doorstep of colorful row houses on tree-lined streets dotted with gas lamps and cobblestone walks. Old Town is a desirable place to call home for those with an active social calendar. A wide variety of restaurants, coffee shops, art galleries, as well as boutique and retail stores, leave plenty to the imagination and ample opportunity to enjoy the finer things in life. Walk down to the Potomac and enjoy the fireworks on the Fourth of July, or bundle up for the holiday tree lighting in December. An Old Town resident would be hard-pressed to run out of things to do.

Getting Around:

Old Town is located just south of D.C. and occupies the southernmost part of the City of Alexandria. Route 1 and the George Washington Parkway (Washington Street) run through Old Town, while Washington's Beltway, I-495 is seconds away. The King Street Metro and Braddock Road Metro Stations are easily accessible and there is a free trolley service that runs from the King Street Metro Station down to the waterfront. DASH bus services are also available. Reagan National Airport is right up the road.

Airports:

Ronald Reagan National Airport:  < 5 miles.
Washington-Dulles International Airport:  < 35 miles.
Baltimore-Washington International Airport:  < 40 miles.
